Getting started
If this is your first time with Ueli, start here.
›What is Ueli?
Ueli is an AI chatbot that answers your questions based on real documents. You pick one or more knowledge libraries (Swiss law, your own contracts), ask a question in plain language, and get an answer with source references.
Unlike general chatbots (ChatGPT, Copilot & co.), Ueli does not invent statements. If he cannot back an answer with the available documents, he says so honestly.
›How do I sign in?
Click "Sign in" in the top right. Enter your email (or username) and password. Forgot your password? Click "Forgot password?" on the sign-in page — you will receive an email with a link to set a new password. Your tenant administrator (usually the person who invited you) can also reset it for you.
›What is a tenant?
A tenant is your organisation on the platform — a law firm, a municipality, an SME. All data is strictly separated per tenant: someone from another company never sees your data.
Four roles inside an organisation — from Member (read) to Organisation owner. See "Managing your team" for what each role can do.
Using the chat
›How do I ask a question?
- Go to "Chat".
- Select one or more knowledge libraries via the coloured pills at the top.
- Type your question and press Enter.
- The answer streams in token by token — start reading while Ueli is still typing.
›What do [S1], [S2] mean?
These are source markers. Every statement that is backed by a document carries one. Click on a marker to open the original document at the exact passage.
›What if Ueli cannot answer?
He will say so honestly ("Cannot provide a grounded answer" / "Fact-check failed"). This is by design — Ueli prefers silence over hallucinations.
Try: (1) ask more specifically, (2) pick a different library, (3) upload your own document on the topic.
Knowledge libraries
›Platform libraries vs my own workspaces?
Platform libraries (curated by us — federal law, AHV leaflets, etc.) are subscribable. Public libraries can be free or paid — the price per month is shown on the library card. Free libraries are available immediately after subscribing; for paid libraries you send a request, which the platform administration reviews and confirms by email. Workspaces are your own where you upload your documents.
›How do I create my own workspace?
"Workspaces" → "+ New Workspace". Give it a clear name + short description + pick the language. Then upload documents.
Uploading documents
›Which file formats are supported?
PDF (including scanned, with OCR), Word (.docx), Excel (.xlsx), HTML, CSV, Markdown, Plain text. Max 50 MB per file.
›Why does processing take so long?
Scanned PDFs need text recognition (OCR) page by page — 3-8 seconds per page. A 100-page scan can take 15 minutes. The processing runs in the background; you can leave the page and come back.
Fact-check
›What does the fact-check do?
After Ueli generates an answer, a second AI model verifies it against the sources. If statements are not backed: answer rejected. This is the core protection against hallucinations.
My profile
›How do I change my name or avatar?
Top-right avatar → "My profile". You can change display name, avatar (JPG/PNG/WebP, max 5 MB), and interface language.
›How do I change my password?
Sign out, then click "Forgot password?" on the sign-in page. You will receive an email with a link to set a new password. Tenant administrators can also reset passwords for their members.
Managing your team (administrators only)
›How do I invite a new colleague?
"Team" → "+ Invite member". Enter their email + role. They get an invite link by email. Pending invites show as "Pending" until accepted.
›Which roles exist and what can they do?
Every member has exactly one role:
- Organisation owner: everything, including approvals, billing and organisation settings.
- Organisation admin: manages members and maintains content, including deleting libraries.
- Member (edit): maintains content — uploads documents, creates and edits libraries.
- Member (read): reads shared libraries and asks questions in the chat.
Security & privacy
›Where is my data stored?
On our own infrastructure in a certified EU data centre. AI models run on servers in Switzerland. No data goes to Microsoft, Google, OpenAI or Amazon.
›Only one active session per account — what does this mean?
You can be signed in on one device at a time per account. Signing in on your laptop while still active on your phone will automatically sign out the phone. This prevents account-sharing.
›How do I download my data (Swiss DPA right of access)?
"My profile" → "Data export". Get a JSON file with all your data. Complies with Art. 25 of the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (revDSG / Swiss DPA).
Problems & fixes
›"Session expired"
Sign-ins expire after a few hours of inactivity. Simply log in again — your previous state is restored.
›"You were signed out because the account was used elsewhere"
Someone (perhaps you on another device) signed in with your credentials. Only one active session is allowed. If it was not you, change your password immediately.
›How do I report a bug?
Bottom-right "Feedback" button. Describe briefly. You can attach a screenshot via file picker, drag-and-drop, or Cmd/Ctrl+V. We respond within 1-2 business days.
